Pictures from our private show by this master of a vanishing art. I like how the light filters through the dyed water buffalo hides. The puppetmaster, Suchart Subsin (who later allowed us to take a peek backstage), brought them to life, expertly manipulating their ornately cut limbs and giving them voice, and providing a unique vision into the mythical world — with the occasional sly reference to the modern one.
